Women in the Trades

This course provides a brief overview in the HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing fields.  Participants will be introduced to the basic tools of the trade and given opportunities to use them.  Come see how exciting working in the trades can be!

NEW Educational Pathway for Practical Nursing Students!

The LPN program has an exciting update. A new educational pathway, from LPN to BSN has been formalized with Wesley College.  This agreement provides for our LPN students to receive college credits for some of the nursing courses they take at POLYTECH.  This will give them advanced standing, sophomore status, in the nursing program at Wesley. This is a wonderful opportunity for those students who want to continue their education to become a Registered Nurse.  For more information, contact Mary Wilt at mary.wilt@polytech.k12.de.us or (302) 697-4545.

Practical Nursing Graduation & Pinning Ceremony

A pinning and graduation ceremony was held on Friday, August 12, 2011  at the POLYTECH Adult Education Conference Center to honor graduates of its Practical Nursing program. Family members, friends and faculty celebrated the accomplishments of the graduates, and wished them well as they embark on their nursing careers.

PN graduates included:   Grace Ayika, Felicia Banks, Toccara Barber, Kestraunda Bonton, Delvie Carter, Jr., Anneke Cerri, Jessica Clukey, Alphonso Evans, B. Jean Freeman, Frances Fultz, Rebecca Hignutt, Rebecca Hutson, Sarah Kelbaugh, Ashley Lewis, Natalie McGee, Mary Miller, R. Maria Moon, Delphine Ongaki, Theresa Wardy, Shree Waters, Tamika Watson, and Angie Wilson.

Several special awards were presented to the graduates, including Outstanding Academic Performance, "Unity" award and the "Spirit of Nursing" award.
