BLS Continuing Education Classes
Current BLS providers can now attend 3 1/2 hour lectures that can be applied to recertification of their National Registry requirements. These classes are offered as part of the EMT Basic program at POLYTECH Adult Education. Information on class dates and times can be mailed, faxed or emailed to you. CPR and First Aid Classes

Polytech Adult Education graduates its First Practical Nursing Class
On Friday, October 17, 2008, 20 Practical Nursing students from POLYTECH Adult Education received their nursing pins and diplomas, marking the end of their education in the Practical Nursing program and the beginning of their careers as nurses. These 20 students were the first to graduate from the POLYTECH Adult Education’s Practical Nursing program.
The pinning and graduation ceremony were both held at POLYTECH Conference center in Woodside. Over 400 family, friends and guests were in attendance. The student speaker was Ms. Amy Martinez. The guest speaker was Mr. Art McLaughlin, an instructor with the Practical Nursing program. Both speakers were chosen by the students from the Practical Nursing program to address the class during the ceremonies.
PN graduates include: Farrah Aiken, Tracy Barrett, Cathy Brown, Nancy Clapp, Kia Conteh, Sheila Drummond, Jane Garver, Theresa Gordon, Stephanie Hamonko, Ivoria Harden, Stephen Jarman, Melvina Jenkins, Holly Lasher, Tamie Lavender, Amy Martinez, Coralene Medved, Janine Parkinson, Melissa Ramsey, Joanne Santiago, Holly VanAuken and Tanita Waters.
Special recognition was given to graduates with excellent attendance and academic performance.
Also, the “Spirit of Nursing” award was presented to a Practical Nursing graduate.
