POLYTECH School District Staff and Community:

Governor Carney has issued a stay-at-home order for all non-essential school personnel extending until May 15th or until public health risk is eliminated. All adult education campus-based and community student orientation sessions, testing sessions, conference center events and other program-related activities are suspended until further notice. Outreach to students with directions regarding class activities is ongoing.  If you have questions or immediate needs, please submit them through the Contact Us box to your right. We will respond via email as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this time.

We are closely monitoring the situation and are continuing to follow guidance provided by Delaware Division of Public Health, the Department of Education, and other state and national agencies. We developed the POLYTECH Emergency Preparations Guide for COVID-19 in anticipation that the situation will evolve.

Please review these recommendations from health officials:

· Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing. Alcohol-based hand cleaners that are at least 60-95% alcohol are also effective.

· Clean frequently touched surfaces.

· Cover your coughs and sneezes. The main way that the flu spreads from person to person is in the droplets produced by coughs and sneezes, so it is important to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or cough/sneeze into your elbow or shoulder, not into your hands.

· Do not share personal items such as drinks, food, or utensils.

Our priority is the health and well-being of our students and staff. We will remain vigilant with the ongoing situation and will notify you of any additional changes to our strategy to prevent the spread of Coronavirus and the flu.
